Position Overview: Senior Android Developer / Android Team Lead

Orbit Global HR Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer with strong leadership qualities to head the Android development team for our client. This role requires extensive hands-on expertise in Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, IoT integration, and modern Android architectures.

The candidate will work on testing, debugging, integration, QC, and scaling Android applications, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Android development activities from planning to deployment.

Develop and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin, Java, SDK, NDK.

Handle integrations for IoT devices and work specifically with Camera model X.

Conduct testing, debugging, and QC to ensure high-quality builds.

Manage Android application architecture across multiple versions and screen sizes.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Web Developers, App Engineers, and Backend Teams.

Document technical requirements and maintain project clarity using JIRA, Excel, Google Sheets.

Provide guidance and mentorship to Android team members.

Oversee on-field deployment challenges and propose structured solutions.

Maintain best practices in UI/UX, API integration, and service optimization.

Coordinate releases, demos, and client-facing technical discussions.

Travel (5–10%) for demos, training, and technical collaboration.

Mandatory Criteria (Strictly Required for Screening)

✔ 5+ years of Android development experience
✔ Candidates must belong to Delhi NCR only
✔ Academic scores must be 70% or above
✔ Must have hands-on experience with IoT devices
✔ Must have experience working with Camera model X
✔ Immediate Joiners are highly preferred
✔ All academic backgrounds accepted except BCA
✔ Strong and fluent communication skills

Required Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Java, Android architecture patterns

Proficiency with REST APIs, JSON, and server communication

Experience with Retrofit, RxJava, Dagger 2, Lottie

Good understanding of Android Studio, Eclipse IDE

Experience deploying apps to the Google Play Store

Backend API development exposure

Knowledge of AWS, Linux, cloud integrations

Experience with relational & non-relational databases

Strong comprehension of mobile hardware and OS-level optimizations

Familiarity with Agile development processes

Preferred Skills & Background

Understanding of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence

Experience with Python, VR/AR, or Test-Driven Development

Background in Computer Science / ECE

Awareness of iOS development (optional)

Strong foundation in data structures & algorithms

Experience with Java Server, JSP
