About the Opportunity

Orbit Global HR Consultants, a leading executive search firm, is hiring a highly skilled SDE II – Flutter for a fast-growing media & entertainment platform. The mobile application serves millions of users and requires an experienced Flutter engineer capable of building scalable architectures, optimizing performance, and delivering an exceptional OTT mobile experience.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role that demands deep technical expertise and the ability to make architectural decisions in a fast-paced B2C environment.

Role Overview

The SDE II – Flutter will be responsible for designing and building scalable mobile architectures, optimizing app performance, implementing OTT-specific workflows, and ensuring a high-quality user experience across Android and iOS platforms. The engineer will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and uphold strong engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Mobile System Design

• Own the end-to-end mobile architecture for high-scale Flutter applications.

• Design modular, testable, and maintainable app structures aligned with OTT performance constraints.

• Define best practices for state management (Bloc, Riverpod, Provider), navigation, API structure, caching, and offline-first capabilities.

• Ensure mobile security, data protection, and efficient resource usage.

2. Performance Optimization & Profiling

• Identify and resolve performance challenges including FPS drops, startup delays, memory leaks, excessive rebuilds, and battery consumption.

• Use profiling tools such as Dart DevTools, Android Profiler, and Xcode Instruments for optimization.

• Optimize rendering pipeline, widget efficiency, asset loading, and device-level constraints.

3. OTT-Specific Mobile Engineering

• Improve and maintain video playback workflows for low-latency streaming.

• Work on background downloads, content caching, DRM, offline content handling, and push notifications.

• Ensure seamless performance across varied network conditions and device capabilities.

4. Product Collaboration & User Experience Leadership

• Work closely with product managers, backend teams, and video engineering units to interpret requirements into high-performance solutions.

• Maintain UI/UX consistency while balancing performance budgets and device constraints.

• Influence product decisions with strong technical reasoning.

5. Code Quality, Ownership & Mentorship

• Write clean, scalable, and well-structured code following SOLID principles.

• Review code for junior and mid-level engineers; act as a technical mentor.

• Build internal frameworks, reusable components, and engineering guidelines for long-term scalability.

Mandatory Skills & Experience (Non-Negotiable)

• 4+ years of total software development experience with 2+ years exclusively in Flutter.

• Experience in product-based companies (B2C scale preferred).

• Strong command of:

  • Dart & Flutter SDK internals

  • Bloc / Riverpod / Provider

  • Custom animations, rendering & shader optimization

  • Platform channels (Android & iOS)

  • Offline-first architecture, caching, API integrations

• Deep understanding of mobile system design and performance engineering.

• Proven ability to lead architecture and decision-making for high-scale applications.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with OTT/video streaming or media-heavy apps.

• Knowledge of Firebase, Segment, Mixpanel, or similar analytics tools.

• Exposure to CI/CD workflows (Fastlane, automated testing, pipeline integration).
