Orbit Global HR Consultants, a leading executive search firm, is partnering with a fast-scaling digital OTT platform to hire an exceptional SDE III – Flutter Engineer. This opportunity involves owning and architecting high-performance, low-latency mobile applications that serve millions of users across India.

As the platform prepares for 10x growth, the engineering team is expanding—making this a high-impact, senior individual contributor role for a Flutter expert passionate about performance, scalability, and OTT engineering.

🎯 Role Overview

The SDE III – Flutter will take complete technical ownership of mobile architecture, performance optimization, high-scale systems design, and advanced OTT workflows. The role requires deep Flutter expertise along with strong product thinking and leadership capabilities.

This is a high-impact IC role, suitable for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems at scale.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & System Design

• Own end-to-end architecture for complex Flutter-based mobile applications.

• Build scalable, modular, and testable app ecosystems optimized for OTT workloads.

• Drive architectural decisions related to state management (Bloc/Riverpod/Provider), navigation, security, and API structure.

• Ensure offline-first architecture, caching strategies, and seamless user experience across devices.

2. Performance Optimization & Profiling

• Diagnose and optimize performance issues including:

  • FPS drops, memory leaks, expensive widget rebuilds

  • App startup time and rendering pipeline

  • Battery usage, network efficiency, device-specific constraints

• Use profiling tools like Dart DevTools, Android Profiler, and Xcode Instruments.

• Ensure the app meets strict performance budgets for low-end and mid-tier devices.

3. OTT & Media App Engineering

• Optimize video playback, background downloads, DRM workflows, and network streaming.

• Implement caching layers for smooth playback in low-connectivity environments.

• Enhance content syncing, push notifications, and offline viewing experiences.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Product Ownership

• Work closely with backend, video engineering, QA, and product teams.

• Translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Maintain UI/UX consistency while balancing performance needs.

• Participate in sprint planning, roadmap discussions, and feature prioritization.

5. Code Quality, Review & Leadership

• Write high-quality code following SOLID principles, clean architecture, and reactive programming.

• Review code for mid-level and junior engineers; provide technical mentorship.

• Build internal frameworks, reusable components, and engineering standards.

• Act as a technical voice influencing long-term product engineering decisions.

✅ Mandatory Skills & Experience (Non-Negotiable)

• 6+ years total experience, with 3+ years in Flutter for large-scale products.

• Experience in product-based companies (B2C preferred).

• Expertise in:

  • Dart, Flutter SDK internals

  • Bloc, Riverpod, Provider

  • Custom animations & rendering pipeline

  • Native integrations via platform channels (Android/iOS)

  • API integration & offline-first architecture

  • Advanced caching strategies and local storage

• Strong understanding of mobile system design & performance engineering.

• Experience mentoring engineers and driving architectural decisions.

➕ Good-to-Have Skills

• Prior experience with OTT, video streaming, or media-heavy applications.

• Knowledge of Firebase, Segment, Mixpanel, or similar analytics tools.

• Exposure to CI/CD setups (Fastlane, automated testing).

• Familiarity with WebAssembly, shader optimization, or advanced animations.
