Function: Strategic Purchase & Procurement Leadership

3️⃣ Your Mission / What You’ll Do

As Purchase Head, you will own and lead all non-gold and non-diamond procurement activities across the organisation. Your role combines strategic planning, people leadership, vendor governance, and financial discipline.

Strategic Budgeting & Procurement Planning (30%)

• You will prepare annual, monthly, and weekly procurement budgets aligned with company policy.

• You will ensure strict budget adherence across all purchase activities—no overruns, no exceptions without approval.

• You will conduct market studies and internal requirement assessments to forecast procurement needs accurately.

• You will design procurement strategies that balance cost efficiency, quality, and compliance.

Team Leadership & Process Control (20%)

• You will lead, monitor, and guide the entire Purchase Department team.

• You will ensure 100% SOP and policy adherence, eliminating malpractices and process gaps.

• You will set clear accountability, performance standards, and reporting discipline.

• You will build a result-oriented, ethical, and transparent purchase culture.

Vendor Management & Negotiation (20%)

• You will identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable and cost-effective vendors.

• You will conduct periodic vendor meetings to resolve delays, address issues, and negotiate better terms.

• You will personally oversee and approve bulk purchases above ₹1 lakh, supported by market validation and negotiation logic.

Operational Oversight & Reporting (15%)

• You will review all purchase reports, returns, and exception notes and take corrective action immediately.

• You will clear audit observations and procurement objections without delay.

• You will represent the Purchase Department in senior management review meetings, presenting issues, risks, and solutions clearly.

Financial Coordination & Vendor Payments (15%)

• You will ensure timely vendor payments strictly as per company policy.

• You will coordinate closely with Finance and Accounts to prevent unnecessary delays.

• You will protect vendor confidence while maintaining financial discipline.

4️⃣ Requirements (Built Directly From the Role)

Essential (Must-Have)

• MBA or Graduation in any discipline

• 10–15 years of proven experience in Purchase / Procurement roles

• Strong hands-on experience with budgeting, vendor negotiations, bulk purchasing, and compliance control

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams with authority and fairness

• High integrity, strong control mindset, and ownership attitude

Nice-to-Have (Added Advantage)

• Experience in jewellery, retail, manufacturing, or multi-location operations

• Exposure to audit handling and senior-level reporting

• Strong analytical and documentation skills
