Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Human Resources Manager with over 10 years of experience to lead end-to-end HR operations for a fast-growing manufacturing organization in the food/FMCG sector. This role requires strong expertise in factory HR, statutory compliance, employee engagement, social audits, and HR strategy, with the ability to align people practices with business growth objectives.
The incumbent will manage HR operations across manufacturing units and corporate offices, playing a critical role in building a compliant, ethical, and high-performance workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Lead hiring across all functions including Production, QA, Maintenance, Logistics, Export, Sales, R&D, and Corporate roles
Develop manpower planning in coordination with plant heads and functional leaders
Create job descriptions, manage structured interviews, and support leadership hiring
Implement innovative recruitment and retention strategies
Promote diversity, inclusion, and employer branding initiatives
2. Employee Engagement & Organizational Culture
Build and sustain a people-centric, ethical, and transparent work culture
Design and execute employee engagement initiatives, town halls, welfare programs, and R&R frameworks
Monitor employee satisfaction, attrition trends, and conduct exit interviews
Act as a bridge between management and employees; handle grievances and conflicts effectively
3. Training & Development
Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for blue-collar and white-collar employees
Develop and implement annual training calendars covering technical, behavioral, safety, and leadership programs
Coordinate with external agencies for statutory, compliance, and skill development training
Evaluate training effectiveness and track post-training outcomes
4. Statutory Compliance, Audits & Labor Relations
Ensure full compliance with Indian labour laws including PF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus, Factories Act, Shops & Establishment Act, etc.
Manage statutory inspections, licenses, renewals, and documentation
Handle social and ethical audits such as BSCI, SA8000, SMETA / SEDEX
Liaise with labour consultants, auditors, and government authorities
Maintain harmonious industrial relations and manage union-related matters, if applicable
5. Payroll & HR Operations
Oversee payroll processing, attendance, leave management, and shift planning
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data
Administer employee benefits including insurance, canteen, transport, uniforms, and statutory benefits
Manage disciplinary procedures and ensure proper documentation
6. Performance Management
Implement and manage performance appraisal systems including KRAs, KPIs, and 360° feedback
Support managers in goal setting, performance reviews, and PIPs
Drive a continuous feedback culture aligned with rewards and recognition
7. HR Strategy & Policy Framework
Develop, review, and implement HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks
Align HR strategies with long-term business and growth plans
Present HR dashboards, MIS, analytics, and insights to senior management
Optimize manpower costs and improve workforce productivity
Required Qualifications & Experience
MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent from a reputed institute
Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing / FMCG / food processing plant
Strong experience managing factory HR and corporate HR operations
In-depth knowledge of Indian labour laws, statutory compliance, and audits
Exposure to HRIS / ERP systems
