This role is with a market-leading mobility platform operating at massive scale across multiple Indian cities. The organization is known for handling high production traffic, building resilient cloud infrastructure, and maintaining 99.99% uptime across mission-critical systems.

The Senior DevOps Engineer – I will play a key role in infrastructure ownership, automation, reliability, observability, and cloud scalability, working closely with engineering and product teams in a high-ownership startup environment.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end infrastructure across non-production and production environments, including self-managed databases

• Design, build, and operate highly available and scalable infrastructure

• Automate and optimize CI/CD pipelines and release processes

• Ensure system uptime of 99.99%+ through proactive monitoring and incident management

• Implement and improve observability, monitoring, and alerting systems

• Collaborate with developers to ensure secure, resilient, and efficient deployments

• Troubleshoot complex production issues across Linux systems, databases, and middleware

• Evangelize DevOps culture and best practices across teams

• Act as a strong individual contributor with complete ownership mindset

🛠 Required Skills

• Cloud & Infrastructure Operations (AWS)

• Kubernetes & Container Orchestration (strong hands-on experience)

• Configuration Management: Terraform, Ansible, Chef/Puppet

• Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana

• Databases & Middleware: MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka

• Strong Linux production troubleshooting experience

• Scripting & Programming: Go, Python, Shell (Java working knowledge required)

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills

✅ Mandatory Screening Criteria (Non-Negotiable)

Candidates must meet all of the following:

1. Must be from a product-based or scalable app-based startup handling large-scale production traffic

2. Strong Linux expertise with hands-on production troubleshooting

3. Solid, real-world experience with Kubernetes

4. Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef/Puppet, plus Prometheus & Grafana

5. Must be an individual contributor with strong ownership

6. Proven experience with database migrations and observability tools

7. Working knowledge of Go/Python and Java

8. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platform

9. Minimum 1.5 years stability per organization with clear justification for any relocation

❌ Candidates from service-based or non-scalable environments may not be suitable.

🎓 Job Requirements

• B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent engineering background

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in DevOps / Infrastructure Engineering

• Strong understanding of Linux OS internals and system performance

• Experience supporting high-availability, distributed systems

• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills

• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and reliability engineering
