Position Summary

We are seeking a Vice President – Human Resources (VP – HR) to act as a strategic business partner to the Founder & CEO, responsible for building, leading, and scaling the entire HR function across a fast-growing, multi-business organization.

This role goes far beyond recruitment and focuses on people strategy, organization building, workforce planning, HR systems, talent acquisition, performance management, leadership development, culture building, and statutory compliance.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader who can operate at both strategy and execution levels, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and build scalable HR frameworks to support aggressive business growth.


Key Responsibilities


1. HR Strategy, Operations & Organization Building

  • Design and implement a group-level HR strategy aligned with business expansion plans

  • Build scalable HR frameworks suitable for multiple business verticals and geographies

  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on:

    • Organization design

    • Manpower planning

    • Leadership capability building

  • Drive HR governance, policies, and best practices across all business units


2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Own end-to-end recruitment strategy for:

    • Leadership roles

    • Critical and niche positions

    • High-volume hiring

  • Translate business plans into annual and quarterly manpower plans

  • Build strong talent pipelines for future growth

  • Ensure hiring speed, quality, and cultural fit across functions

Key Hiring Metrics Ownership:

  • Hiring TAT adherence

  • Offer-to-Join Ratio (Target: 85%+)

  • Quality of hire and early attrition control


3. Recruitment Operations & Employer Branding

  • Strengthen sourcing through:

    • Job portals

    • LinkedIn & headhunting

    • Employee referrals

    • Recruitment agencies

    • Social media channels

  • Build and position a strong employer brand

  • Drive recruitment analytics, dashboards, and MIS reporting

  • Control recruitment costs and improve hiring efficiency


4. HR Policies, Systems & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and periodically update:

    • HR policies & employee handbook

    • Hiring, onboarding, confirmation, exit, and disciplinary processes

  • Ensure full compliance with labour laws and employment regulations

  • Act as custodian of HR documentation, audits, and statutory compliance

  • Coordinate with legal and finance teams on employment-related matters


5. Performance Management & Employee Lifecycle

  • Design and implement performance management systems (KPIs, OKRs, appraisals)

  • Align individual and team goals with business objectives

  • Partner closely with business heads on performance outcomes

  • Oversee complete employee lifecycle:

    • Onboarding

    • Engagement

    • Development

    • Retention

    • Exit management

  • Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives


6. Leadership Development & Capability Building

  • Identify leadership and capability gaps across the organization

  • Design and implement development frameworks for:

    • Senior leadership

    • Functional heads

    • High-potential talent

  • Lead succession planning and internal talent development programs


7. HR Team Leadership & Vendor Management

  • Build, mentor, and lead a strong internal HR team (TA, HR Ops, HRBP)

  • Set performance standards and accountability frameworks

  • Manage recruitment agencies, consultants, and vendors

  • Track vendor performance, SLAs, and cost effectiveness


Mandatory Screening Criteria (Non-Negotiable)

Candidates must come from one or more of the following industries:

  • Food & Beverages

  • Hospitality / Tourism

  • Manufacturing

  • Consumer Electronics

  • Business Services


Must-Have Experience

  • 12–18 years of progressive HR experience with enterprise or group-level exposure

  • MBA in Human Resources or equivalent qualification (mandatory)

  • Proven ownership of group-level HR strategy aligned with business growth

  • Strong hands-on experience in organization building across multiple verticals

  • End-to-end leadership of recruitment strategy including leadership and volume hiring

  • Personal accountability for hiring KPIs (TAT, offer-to-join ratio, quality of hire)

  • Experience advising senior leadership on org design and workforce planning

  • Full ownership of HR policies, systems, and statutory compliance

  • Proven ability to build, scale, and lead HR teams and manage recruitment vendors
