Assistant Manager – Business Development (Tours & Travels) Mumbai Location
We are looking for a high-ownership Assistant Manager – Business Development to manage supply sourcing and own region & route-level P&L for intercity bus operations. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong commercial judgment, vendor negotiations, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth, margins, and service quality.
The role involves frequent travel within Mumbai and intercity, and is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, execution-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities for intercity bus operations within the assigned region
Research the market to source high-quality buses and onboard reliable bus operators
Lead commercial negotiations, finalize contracts, pricing, and mitigate operational risks
Own and manage route-level and regional P&L, taking day/week/month-level business decisions
Act as the single point of contact between internal teams and external supply partners
Collaborate closely with Operations, Demand, and Customer Support teams to ensure seamless execution and service quality
Drive revenue growth and margin improvement through structured planning and execution
Track performance metrics and prepare reports using Excel-based analysis
Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
3–6 years of experience in Business Development, Supply, Vendor Management, or Regional Operations
Proven experience handling P&L ownership (revenue, cost, margins)
Strong vendor sourcing & negotiation experience (transport, logistics, fleet, or bus operators preferred)
Demonstrated ability to identify new opportunities and onboard supply partners
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong commercial acumen and decision-making capability
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for analysis and reporting
Language proficiency: Marathi, Hindi & English (mandatory)
Willingness to travel frequently within Mumbai and intercity
Graduation required
