Position Overview

Orbit Global is hiring on behalf of a reputed and fast-growing food manufacturing organization for the position of Assistant Purchase Manager based in Sonipat, Haryana.

The role requires an experienced procurement professional with strong expertise in sourcing raw materials, flavors, spices, packaging materials, and managing vendor relationships within the food or FMCG sector.

Key Responsibilities

Raw Material Procurement

• Procurement of Sugar, Salt, Flours, Oil & Ghee, Essences & Flavors, Whole & Powder Spices, and related food ingredients.

• Sourcing from manufacturers and authorized distributors.

• Regular supplier price negotiations to ensure cost efficiency.

Packaging Material Procurement

• Mono cartons

• Corrugated boxes (printed & plain)

• Laminates

• PP & LD packaging materials

• Stretch film, strapping rolls, container laminates

Laboratory & Technical Procurement

• Procurement of lab chemicals and laboratory instruments.

• Procurement of plant equipment and related accessories.

Vendor Management & Commercial Control

• Vendor identification, evaluation, and approval.

• Vendor development and local sourcing initiatives.

• Preparation and issuance of Purchase Orders.

• Preparing rate contracts for routine items.

• Conducting market surveys and benchmarking exercises.

• Supplier performance monitoring including lead-time analysis.

• Regular cost renegotiations with suppliers.

Reporting & Systems

• Working on SAP HANA.

• Preparation of price comparison sheets and cost analysis reports.

• Monitoring material consumption trends.

• Maintaining procurement documentation and compliance.

NPD Support

• Supporting New Product Development initiatives through sourcing of new ingredients and materials.

General Procurement

• Procurement of housekeeping and stationery materials.

• Ensuring uninterrupted supply of routine operational materials.

Candidate Profile

• 4–8 years of procurement experience in Food / FMCG / Flavors / Spices industry.

• Strong vendor negotiation and development skills.

• Experience in SAP HANA is preferred.

• Strong analytical skills with exposure to cost comparison and commercial analysis.

• Understanding of raw materials and packaging sourcing.

• Good communication and supplier coordination skills.
