Job Overview

We are looking for a field-oriented Assistant Manager – Farm to support agri procurement and contract farming operations across South India. The role involves farmer onboarding, crop planning, supplier management, and close coordination with factory production requirements to ensure consistent supply of quality agricultural produce.

This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in fresh fruits and vegetables procurement and strong engagement with farmers and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and onboard farmers and vendors; assess their suitability for supply chain requirements

• Recruit, train, and guide field teams on farming practices for targeted crops

• Plan crop sowing and manage procurement of agricultural raw materials aligned with factory production plans

• Negotiate contract terms and pricing with suppliers to ensure high fill rates and cost efficiency

• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with farmers and suppliers

• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against quality, quantity, and delivery timelines

• Ensure adherence to recommended farming package of practices

• Ensure compliance with GLOBALG.A.P and MRL standards during cultivation and procurement

Candidate Profile

• Strong field exposure in agri procurement and farmer management

• Practical understanding of crop cycles, sowing schedules, and harvest planning

• Good negotiation and relationship management skills

• Willingness to travel extensively across rural areas

• Ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and suppliers

Qualifications

• Graduate in Agriculture / Horticulture

• Diploma holders in agriculture-related fields

• Other graduates with relevant field experience in fresh fruits and vegetables procurement
