Experience: Minimum 5 years in agri procurement, contract farming, and farmer engagement
Compensation: ₹18–20 LPA
Role Overview
You will lead the development and execution of contract farming and direct agri-procurement operations across South India. This is a field-intensive leadership role, where you will work closely with farmers, FPOs, cooperatives, and aggregators to build a sustainable, traceable, and cost-efficient agri supply chain aligned with production needs.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely availability of quality raw materials, strengthening farmer relationships, and scaling procurement operations responsibly.
What You Will Do
1. Contract Farming & Crop Planning
Identify, onboard, and manage farmers, FPOs, and cooperatives for contract cultivation
Plan crops based on demand forecasts, agro-climatic suitability, and production schedules
Draft, execute, and manage transparent and compliant contract farming agreements
2. Farmer Engagement & Field Operations
Conduct regular field visits to monitor crop progress and provide agronomic support
Build long-term, trust-based relationships with farmers and local stakeholders
Organize farmer meetings, training programs, and seasonal orientation sessions
3. Procurement & Supply Chain Execution
Manage end-to-end procurement including harvest planning, aggregation, and transportation
Ensure farm-gate quality checks before dispatch to factories or warehouses
Coordinate with production, quality, and logistics teams for seamless supply flow
4. Data, Reporting & Performance Tracking
Maintain accurate records of farmers, contracts, acreage, crop status, and yield estimates
Track procurement costs, risks, and supply performance
Prepare periodic MIS and reports for senior management
5. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to contract farming laws and procurement regulations
Identify risks such as crop failure, weather impact, and price volatility
Proactively recommend mitigation and contingency strategies
What Makes You a Strong Fit
Proven hands-on experience in agri procurement and contract farming
Strong understanding of South Indian cropping patterns and farming practices
Ability to work independently in rural, field-based environments
Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills with farmers and institutions
Comfortable using Excel, Google Sheets, ERP systems, and procurement trackers
Language Skills:
Fluency in any two of the following preferred: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Management, or Supply Chain
Experience working with FPOs, cooperatives, or large-scale contract farming models
Willingness to travel extensively across rural areas in South India
