Role Overview

We are looking for a Project Manager – Data Center with strong hands-on experience in IT infrastructure to lead the deployment, commissioning, and operations of Data Center environments. The role requires a good balance of technical expertise and project coordination skills. Ideal for someone who has worked as a Data Center Engineer, Operations Engineer, or Infrastructure Lead and is now ready to take up project management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Center IT Infrastructure Deployment

• Manage deployment of IT infrastructure including servers (rack & blade), storage systems, and networking equipment.
• Oversee rack & stack, structured cabling, labeling, and coordination with facility teams for power and cooling.
• Ensure deployments follow industry best practices and documentation standards.

2. Commissioning & Go-Live

• Lead installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of IT systems.
• Perform system validation, redundancy checks, and performance testing.
• Support smooth go-live and handover to operations teams.

3. Operations & Maintenance

• Ensure day-to-day stability and high availability of Data Center IT infrastructure.
• Handle patching, firmware upgrades, hardware maintenance, and lifecycle activities.
• Manage Incident, Problem, and Change Management as per ITIL processes.
• Work towards meeting uptime and SLA targets.

4. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with OEMs (Dell, HPE, Cisco, etc.), system integrators, and service providers.
• Track AMC contracts, warranties, and vendor deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Security, Cloud, Applications, etc.).

5. Security, Compliance & Monitoring

• Implement and ensure adherence to security policies and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC2, etc.).
• Use monitoring tools for performance, capacity, and health tracking.
• Support backup, DR, and business continuity processes.

6. Project Coordination & Documentation

• Track project progress, risks, and timelines.
• Maintain proper documentation of configurations, processes, and changes.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or related Engineering field.

Experience:

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in Data Center Operations / IT Infrastructure Management.
• Must have handled end-to-end IT infrastructure deployment or operations projects.

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Servers (Dell/HP), Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), Storage (SAN/NAS), and Enterprise Networking.
• Good knowledge of cabling standards, rack & stack, and data center best practices.
• Experience in monitoring tools and ITIL processes.

Certifications (Preferred):

• PMP / PRINCE2 (or working towards it)
• ITIL Foundation
• VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent

A candidate with 5–10 years of experience who has worked in Data Center Operations / Engineering roles and is now transitioning into or already handling Project Management responsibilities. Someone who is technically sound, proactive, and comfortable managing both technical execution and project deliverables.
