About the Role

Chemmanur International Jewellers is expanding its construction and infrastructure projects across multiple locations. To support smooth execution at site level, we are hiring a Project Purchase Coordinator who will act as the single point of coordination between project sites, vendors, and the Purchase Department.

This role is ideal for a civil engineering professional who enjoys site exposure, coordination work, vendor interaction, and real-time problem-solving, rather than a purely desk-based role.


Your Mission / What You’ll Do

As a Project Purchase Coordinator, you will ensure that construction materials and project-related purchases are sourced locally, approved correctly, and delivered on time—without delays, deviations, or malpractices.

You will be the Purchase Department’s representative at project sites, supporting Project Managers, Consultants, and Contractors for smooth project execution.


Key Responsibilities (KRAs)

Vendor Identification & Local Sourcing

  • Visit construction sites regularly to understand material requirements.

  • Identify suitable local vendors and suppliers near each project location.

  • Discuss vendor options with the Project Team and maintain proper documentation for each site.

Quotation & Approval Coordination

  • Collect detailed material requirements from the Project Team in advance.

  • Assess procurement feasibility within the required timelines.

  • Obtain competitive quotations, get Project Team approval, and submit them to the Purchase Department as per company policy.

Delivery & Follow-up

  • Coordinate with Purchase Department, Finance Department, and vendors to ensure timely procurement.

  • Follow up continuously to ensure on-time delivery of materials at site without disruption to project schedules.

Project Monitoring & Compliance

  • Maintain close observation of project activities to ensure proper utilisation of materials.

  • Monitor for any irregularities or malpractices and report daily updates to the Head of Department.

  • Ensure all site demands are genuine, approved, and properly recorded.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as the key coordination link between Project Managers, Project Consultants, Contractors, and the Purchase Department.

  • Support smooth day-to-day project operations through clear communication and timely action.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Availability of reliable local vendors for each project site

  • Timely submission and approval of quotations

  • On-time delivery of materials to site

  • Zero procurement-related delays impacting project execution

  • Compliance with company policies and prevention of malpractices


Education & Experience

Must-Have Qualifications

  • B.Tech in Civil Engineering OR Diploma in Civil Engineering

  • 1–2 years of experience in construction or site-based roles

Preferred Profile

  • Exposure to construction site coordination, vendor sourcing, or procurement support

  • Fresh candidates with strong site understanding may also be considered


Reporting Relationship

  • Reports directly to the Purchase Head


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Role requires full-time presence at office and construction sites

  • Frequent local and occasional outstation travel is mandatory

  • Work involves site coordination rather than prolonged desk work

  • Ability to handle tight timelines and urgent site requirements

  • Strong communication skills and keen observation are essential
