Senior Backend Engineer – II (Media & Entertainment | OTT Platform | TypeScript | Node.js)|Orbit Global

You’ll be joining a high-growth OTT startup on a mission to preserve and celebrate India’s regional dialects through premium digital storytelling. The product empowers communities, strengthens cultural identity, and brings authentic local stories to global audiences.

The engineering team works in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you will influence architecture, build high-scale systems, and solve real-world technical challenges that impact millions of viewers daily.

Your Mission / What You’ll Do

In this role, you own backend engineering for a large-scale OTT streaming platform. You architect, build, optimize, and maintain systems that power millions of monthly users.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Build & ship backend features using TypeScript + Node.js

• Design scalable microservices leveraging DDD, EDA, and cloud-native patterns

• Write clean, well-tested code with integration tests and CI/CD automation

• Improve observability with logging, metrics, tracing

• Optimize backend performance, reliability, and system stability

• Collaborate with product, design & data to co-create solutions

• Lead production readiness & incident handling

• Raise engineering standards across code quality, reviews, and architecture

Requirements (Must-Have + Nice-to-Have)

✅ Mandatory Criteria (Cannot Be Neglected During Screening)

• Only candidates from growing startups or product-based companies.

• 4–6 years of backend engineering experience

• Minimum 2+ years hands-on with:

  • TypeScript

  • Express.js / Nest.js

• Strong experience with MongoDB (or MySQL/PostgreSQL/DynamoDB)

• Solid system design and scalable architecture expertise

• Hands-on experience in:

  • Event-driven architecture

  • Domain-driven design

  • MVC / Microservices

• Strong experience in automated testing, especially integration tests

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)

• Proven experience in production system management

• Strong understanding of performance, reliability, observability

• Cloud experience — AWS preferred (GCP/Azure acceptable)

• Strong coding standards: Clean Code, refactoring, code reviews

⭐ Nice-to-Have Skills

• Kubernetes, Terraform, Pulumi

• Experience with adjacent stacks: React.js, Flutter, AWS, data pipelines

• Experience in OTT, streaming, or large-scale consumer platforms

💰 Salary Details

• CTC Range: ₹27,00,000 – ₹30,00,000 per annum
  (Final offer depends on skills, experience, and interview performance.)
