About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for a fast-growing SaaS company.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you will architect, build, and scale backend systems powering large-scale applications. You will work on distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and high-performance platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. System Architecture & Design

• Design and build scalable backend systems from scratch
• Define architecture (microservices vs monolith, event-driven systems)
• Develop REST, GraphQL, and real-time APIs
• Build multi-tenant and distributed systems

2. Backend Development

• Develop high-performance APIs and backend services
• Build secure authentication and authorization systems
• Create real-time features using WebSockets
• Design integrations and third-party APIs

3. Data & Database Management

• Design scalable database architectures (SQL & NoSQL)
• Implement caching strategies (Redis, Memcached)
• Build search and indexing systems
• Ensure data security, backup, and recovery

4. Scalability & Performance

• Optimize systems for high traffic and performance
• Implement load balancing and autoscaling
• Improve API response times and system efficiency

5. Cloud & DevOps

• Work with AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.)
• Build CI/CD pipelines for deployment
• Use Docker & Kubernetes for containerization
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems

6. Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor junior engineers and guide technical decisions
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams
• Drive best practices in coding, architecture, and security

Eligibility Criteria

Experience

• Minimum: 5 years
• Preferred: 5 – 8 years in backend engineering
• Strong experience building scalable systems

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related field

Location

• Bangalore (Onsite)

Mandatory Skills (Non-Negotiable)

• Expert-level proficiency in Node.js
• Strong experience in system design & distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
• Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases
• Experience building RESTful APIs
• Proven ability to build systems from scratch
• Leadership and mentoring experience

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Python / Go / Java
• Knowledge of GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets
• Experience in SaaS / startup environments
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools
• Exposure to real-time systems or large-scale data processing
